EPIC 70's Re-creation Project Shoot - Movie Poster Dianna Prince as " Foxy Brown " ( Pam Grier )

Where do I begin? I am not fond at all of the 1970's fashions or hair. Pin Up lost be after about 1965. lol. But there are a couple of super sexy, super beautiful icons that were very famous in the 1970's and see as huge sex symbols. Pam Grier being one of them. the story behind the life was interesting to read and I want to find a video documentary of her or of the making behind one of her popular 70's films. Her beauty was BOLD but feminine! In many roles she was beautiful and deadly. Her physical acting skills while fighting in gowns and heels, amazes me. For so many women she meant so much during the 70s's and beyond. An black people in general. She was a positive figure and stood for power. She was the 1st black actress to star in action films. She also was a model and posed nude as well! Her body was as gorgeous as her face! This is what I found on Wikipedia.

"Pamela Suzette "Pam" Grier (born May 26, 1949) is an American actress. She became famous in the early 1970s after starring in a string of moderately successful women in prison and blaxploitation films like The Big Bird Cage (1972), Coffy (1973), Foxy Brown (1974) and Sheba Baby (1975). Her career was revitalized in 1997 after her appearance in Quentin Tarantino's film Jackie Brown, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. She has also been nominated for a SAG Award as well as a Satellite Award for her performance in Jackie Brown. Grier is also known for her work on television, for 6 seasons she portrayed Kate 'Kit' Porter on the television series The L Word. She received an Emmy Award nomination for her work in the animated program Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every ChildRotten Tomatoes has ranked her as the second greatest female action heroine in film history.[1] Director Quentin Tarantino remarked that she may have been cinema's first female action star. "

So now I decided on looks. I decided on 2 main outfits. One is all crisp white with silver and rhinestone details. Its a one pc and skin tight, body suit, low cut in front like a halter top with low back. Pants area are bell bottoms. This is something that is brand new and given to me by La Kiss Boutique and def def not something I thought I'd wear. Cant wear support under it, so for flawless images I will have to rely on the fabo skills of Gwendolyn Tundermann. She will shoot me for this June 10, 2014. We have had many wonderful shoots for her store " Sweet Bisou " and for m show, " Dianna Prince's Pin Up Closet ". We also did what we both deem as an spic re-creation project shoot of Cleopatra! I did the same amount of research and planned it all in detail same as this one! My 2nd look is a gown I got on ebay. Actually another model I let wear it at a shoot, but I have never modeled in it. I tried it on and its stretchy material and will def show my curves and cuts low in front. Its black w burnt orange, glitter details all over entire gown. Its also full length and material is thin. I have some cute lil white, no plat form heels, also from La Kiss, and many pairs of black heels but also a pair of suede high high boots! I have ordered some costume jewelry and I will sport my own natural hair. I do have one wig I could use for when I wear the gown, similar to the style wigs she wore but Idk if I'll use it, Most likely my own hair, curly full and in a fro!

I believe we are taking some studio shots and some outside. Whatever outfit I'm in outside,.... get ready public! Both are super super sexy and I love them both! They are def both something you should have major curves to show them well.

So here I will show images of Pam in her many gowns and looks. And mention what details I notice and will copy for this shoot.

As we can see by the images above Pam had many bold, stunning, epic looks! She was in many fabo gowns and always sexy, classy but most def  BOLD! To wear boots with a full length dress is def style and bold! She had many hair styles and they changed with the change of eras. I will be modeling in a gown, a jumpsuit and my hair will be in a natural fro! My natural fro! I must admit I am not a fan of the style of clothing or hair in the 70's. But if I ever did a re-creation in the 70's would have to be over the top super sexy! Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby! Her curves made each outfit and gown she wore stand out! Pure sexiness and Amazon body!

Above are an array of images showing her many looks from early in her career though the 70's. Again she wore many wigs and also her natural fro. From fashion model images, to bold female bad ass, to sexy upscale and then casual sexy! I say whatever hair style, whatever wardrobe she always looked stunning! I can just imagine when she went somewhere all dolled up and decked out, how folks must have stopped in their tracks with " Ahhhh "! I am thinking of doing a 3rd look with casual cotton top and bell bottom blue jeans and some plat form shoes! The 1st 2 looks I have planned are over the top sexy! So a casual yet sexy sound like a winning combo with the other 2 looks.

Above are images of my wardrobe. Now the 1st image of an Old Hollywood look I did for a model named Frawy. Beautiful! The dress is stretchy material, so although she's a size 0 and I am a size 12, It will fit me! The bottom image of jumpsuit isnt what I am wearing. Its close to it as far as halter top style and bell bottoms. But mine is crisp white w rhinestone details. Cuts low in front, dips low in back. I have some white 60's looking non plat forms to match. Not everyone wore plate forms in the 70's. Some elegant heels were wore and modeled.

Above are fabo items I purchased on ebay.com.  I will wear bottom lashes for the 1st time. Fashion jewelry is key to budgeting all my shoots. Cheesecake, Rockabilly, Old Hollywood Glam, Re-creation Project Shoots and more! If I have a implied nude pin up shoot I still need jewelry lol! And again its all about getting what I need on a budget for each shoot I do! It takes awhile to get stuff from ebay if its from China. So once I set up a shoot and theme, I head to ebay. Sometimes I am blessed and my photographer provides me with a budget! I always make it go as far as I can!

I want to say one of the things that I remember about Pam, when I was reading on her,... She said that she is mixed with 3 different races. "I'm a mix of several races: HispanicChineseFilipino. My dad was black, and my mom was Cheyenne Indian."[4]Since here she is half black and half native American, that would make Pam Grier a "Black Indian" which was term that is used for African Americans that have alot of Native American Blood. " She also said, that folks see what they want. And they see her as black.  And that the docs gave her less than 2 yrs to live and shes alive today! I really hope that somehow she will see this blog! And even more so wish she will see the final images of this EPIC re-creation shoot of HER! Thank you Pam for being a ground breaker to actresses, blacks and to women all over the world! The love a women who's confident! Its sexy in itself. A woman is will show her curves and be bold with it! And the whole time showing all the qualities of being a strong woman! Intelligence, Confidence,  Feminine from head to toe, and sheer Class!

Breaking race barriers and creating a bold presence of a woman, a black woman playing in action films! Starting and working with many talented black male actors and white actors! She made alot of changes and set a path!

Natural Beauty! Thats why I selected to wear my natural curly hair and create a huge fro. I actually cut aka chopped off about 6 - 7 inches off my hair! I wear wigs for 90% of my pin up shoots! I love them all! I love having different styles and colors. I love looking different! My hair was, the back layer, to my elbows. But I know since I never cut or trim it, I'm sure ends were not great. But I have no chemicals in my hair and don't use heat. I feel it will prob grow back by winter, but I wear it in same ole ponytail I did before I cut it! I just know for sure now my from will pop up and be as big as I want it to be! lol. I have thick hair with the tiniest curls in the world! So once dry, with no product, will be an super fabo fro. I have a pick and some oil sheen so I am ready!  And the image just above this, shows her in same style earrings I bought!  My hair and all who have curly hair, has many stages. In shower while wet its way longer than once it dries. But letting it dry with product will make curls stay thinner and more laid down. There is just so many different ways my curls look depending on how I let it dry, what I put into it and what I do after. My hair is so curly that it can be to my elbows and still rise to my shoulders! Like a spring! lol Just depends on product and style.

Above are 2 images of me w natural hair. Again can be long but with such tiny curls will bounce up. That's why after cutting it, I know I will get the FABO FRO I am after! I dont think I'll leave too many actual curls, will pick them out to make a huge fro!

It was fun, interesting and an honor to do the research on this Icon, who is still with us today! Since all the the movies she played in and starred in, she has been in so many movies and starred in a few. I love her but I adore the 70's style! She one of the only people ever to inspire me to go back into the 70's! Its so awesome to be shooting this with Gwen. She has a store that sells designer, vintage and some from the 70's! I am a model for her store currently. " Sweet Bisou ". And modeling in 70's is just something I never thought I'd do. This will def be vintage but more sexy vintage. I am gathering more wardrobe, looking for boots and maybe a hat. Its exciting! Of course I want a cover! I will grace the covers of 2 fabo pin up mags this summer with images fro Gwendolyn. I am blessed to know her and model for her! And for her to be one of my main photographers in San Diego! Her work is stunning and in the process we always have FUN! Thank you Gwen! Thank you Ms. Grier! This is a shoot I'll makeo one flawless fabo shot into a movie poster! My husband is happy for this and has had an image of a cartoon, that looks like Foxy Brown, on his phn as my caller id pic! LOL Eric! So June 10th, 2014 is the magically day! I will probably do another re-creation of Pam one day!
